What Participants Say

Hear from past workshop participants about their experiences and the impact of our programs.

The school garden design workshop transformed our approach to outdoor education. Jean-Pierre's expertise in agroforestry combined with his understanding of educational needs helped us create a garden that serves as both a learning space and a productive ecosystem. Our students are now actively engaged in maintaining the garden and using it as a living laboratory.

Aminata's medicinal plants workshop was a perfect blend of traditional knowledge and practical application. Her deep respect for indigenous wisdom combined with scientific understanding created a rich learning experience. I left with not only new skills in plant propagation but also a deeper appreciation for the cultural heritage of plant medicine.

Community Garden Coordinator, Accra Urban Farming Initiative

The rainwater harvesting workshop provided exactly what our community needed - practical, affordable solutions that we could implement immediately. The hands-on approach meant that we not only learned the concepts but actually built a functioning system during the workshop. Six months later, we've replicated the design in three more community gardens.

Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about our workshops and speaking engagements.

How do I book a workshop for my organization?

To book a workshop, contact us through our website or email info@dilulu.org with details about your organization, preferred workshop topic, desired dates, location, and approximate number of participants. Our team will respond within 48 hours to discuss your needs and provide a customized proposal.

What is the typical group size for workshops?

Our workshops are designed to accommodate groups of 10-30 participants for optimal engagement and hands-on learning. For larger groups, we can adapt the format or provide multiple facilitators to ensure a quality experience. For very small groups (fewer than 8), we may recommend joining a scheduled public workshop or adjusting the pricing structure.

Do you offer virtual workshops?

Yes, we offer virtual workshops for many of our topics. While hands-on learning is a core part of our approach, we've developed effective methods for remote instruction including pre-workshop material kits, interactive demonstrations, and follow-up support. Virtual workshops are particularly suitable for introductory topics and theoretical content.

What languages are workshops available in?

Our workshops are available in English and French, with some facilitators also able to present in local languages including Wolof, Lingala, and Swahili. Please specify your language requirements when inquiring about a workshop, and we'll match you with an appropriate facilitator.

Do you provide materials and resources for participants?

Yes, all workshops include comprehensive handouts, resource guides, and reference materials for participants. For hands-on workshops, we provide a detailed list of required materials in advance. Depending on the workshop and agreement, we may provide certain specialized materials, while asking the host organization to supply basic items. All participants receive digital access to resources through our online learning platform after the workshop.

What are your fees and payment policies?

Workshop fees vary based on duration, content, group size, and location. We provide detailed quotes after discussing your specific needs. For non-profit organizations, schools, and community groups, we offer sliding scale rates and can sometimes provide partial scholarships. Standard payment terms include a 50% deposit to secure the booking, with the balance due one week before the workshop date. For organizations with specific procurement processes, we're happy to work within your requirements.
