Event Coordinator Volunteer

As an Event Coordinator volunteer with Dilulu, you'll help organize and facilitate community events, workshops, and garden celebrations that promote sustainable living and community connection. These events are vital for sharing knowledge, building community, and celebrating the successes of our garden initiatives across Africa.

Our Event Coordinators combine organizational skills with creativity and people skills to create meaningful, engaging experiences. Whether you're planning a harvest festival, coordinating a workshop series, or organizing a community workday, you'll help bring people together around our mission of sustainable gardening and natural living.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate various types of events, including workshops, celebrations, community workdays, and educational sessions
  • Develop event schedules, activities, and logistics plans
  • Coordinate with speakers, facilitators, and other participants
  • Prepare event materials, including handouts, signage, and activity supplies
  • Manage event registration and participant communications
  • Set up and manage event spaces, including garden sites and community venues
  • Facilitate activities and ensure events run smoothly
  • Document events through photos, participant feedback, and summary reports
  • Coordinate with other volunteers and staff to ensure integrated event planning

Requirements

  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Experience in event coordination or willingness to learn

Opportunity Details

Location

Available in all countries where Dilulu operates: Gabon, Senegal, Ghana, Kenya, and Rwanda

Time Commitment

Project-based commitment:

  • Pre-event planning: 3-5 hours per week for 2-4 weeks before event
  • Event day: 4-8 hours
  • Post-event follow-up: 2-3 hours
  • Commitment to at least 2-3 events per year preferred
